Why Healthy Connections?
The Healthy Connections clinics at Chermside and Taringa focus on a health and wellness model emphasising managed exercise, based on individual assessment by trained professionals.
The Healthy Connections team of Accredited Exercise Physiologists are dedicated specialists committed to helping every client improve their health and wellbeing through evidence based exercise prescription. They have proven results in helping clients to self- manage chronic conditions and maintain an independent lifestyle.
Healthy Connections clinics are modern air-conditioned venues with high quality, easy to use equipment, showers and member lockers.
Our Chermside Clinic has an on-site café and transport services can be organised from home to the clinic and return.
We aim to maintain a friendly, relaxed and inclusive environment where no-one feels out of place. TVs are on during exercise sessions but are muted with audio descriptive text displayed so that staff can focus on one to one care of clients.
We are always looking for ways we can do things better for our clients.
Keeping up to date with education and training is important, and each staff member is provided with opportunities to keep their knowledge and skills current, to provide best practice for our members.
Research to Practice also became an important component of Healthy Connections when an exciting research project, Muscling up against Disability, commenced at the Chermside clinic in 2015. This innovative program will measure the benefits of exercise for 300 older Australians and provide real-world data on which to base government policy and practice. Click here for further details
