Meet the team
What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP)?
AEPs are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities (ESSA).
What is the difference between Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists?
Exercise physiologists tend to work in the long-term management of chronic conditions, whereas a Physiotherapist works more in the acute management phase. Physiotherapists have more diagnostic skills and can provide hands-on treatment for their clients if necessary. For best client outcomes we always recommend a multidisciplinary approach.
ESSA Awards - National Recognition 2015
Healthy Connections received an ESSA industry award for Exercise Physiology Practice of the Year in 2015. Our Exercise Physiologist Renee Weller also awarded Graduate Exercise Physiologist of the Year. The national award, by Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA), recognises exercise physiology practices that provide exceptional services and programs to their clients, or have developed innovative services or service delivery models, across the health sector.
LASA Awards - Excellence in Aged Care Services 2018
Healthy Connections won a prestigious Queensland award for their outstanding efforts and contribution towards age services. The presentation was made on the Gold Coast at the recent LASA Excellence in Aged Care Services Awards gala dinner with Manager, Karen Stewart-Smith representing the team.
